The job

Crops: Beets, Cabbage, kale, collards, Broccoli, Corn, Celery, Cilantro, Parsley, Swiss chard, Onions, Spinach, Watermelons

Conventional: cover crop, curly mustard, dandelion, dill, kohlrabi, leeks, methileaf, plain mustard, turnip greens

Ag equipment operators: Drive tractors using a number of implements including plows, discs, land planes, tillers, bed formers, seeders, sprayers, mulch and irrigation tape layers, plastic mulch removers, and mowers. Install and maintain drip irrigation systems. Inspect crops in the field and indicate when to harvest. Participate in hand and semi mechanized harvests. Harvesting of fresh cut greens including kale, collards, turnip tops, mustard greens, onions, and melons. Field packing, operating farm equipment, shed packing, fresh-cut processing, and other agricultural operations related to the production of fruit and vegetable production, including but not limited to greens, onions, and melons. Workers will also grade, clean, wash, sort, pack, package, and stack fresh-cut bagged products and melons. Be able to work in the farm packing house performing minor maintenance, making boxes, sorting , and moving packed boxes by hand and with forklifts. Will also perform maintenance and minor repairs of farm equipment. Certain employees may be assigned to assist with basic food preparation and distribution activities to support daily operations. Duties may include preparing simple meals, handling food supplies, maintaining cleanliness of food preparation areas, and delivering meals to designated work locations when operationally necessary. These tasks are performed as general support services and do not constitute commercial food service or catering operations. All food handling will be conducted in accordance with company guidelines and applicable health and safety standards. Some workers will, under the direction of first-line supervisors, record information about crops, direct and monitor the work of seasonal help, and inform farm managers of crop progress.

Housing: Rental or public accommodations

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. Workers residing in employer-provided housing will be provided free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Transport: Employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier (e.g., van, bus, plane) transportation charges for the distances involved for both inbound and outbound transportation. Inbound transportation provided from the foreign worker's home city to the U.S. consulate and from the U.S. Consulate to the work site.
