The job
Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil/planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops; feeding and herding livestock; or removing animal waste. Perform accurate planting/spraying/fertilizing/irrigation needs for the field (hay, silage, corn) and maximize the yields of crop off of each field. Harvest materials timely to get optimal quality/yield per acre. Perform mechanical upkeep on planting and harvesting equipment. Report and record all supplies needed for crop inputs and outputs. Operate the scale and verify scale tickets. Answer the phone, and backup to cook when absent. Process and/or treat cattle according to established procedures. Provide the best care for all cattle. Assist in all aspects of animal health. Provide accurate rations distributed to the cattle. Provide care/service to the feed loader.
The work day may begin / end earlier or later on any given day and evening. Typical workweek is Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., with potential nights and weekends required depending on the crops and weather.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Company will provide free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities to the workers that will enable the workers to prepare their own meals. The facilities include refrigeration, microwave, stove top or portable stove top, various cooking accessories, and an adequate sink with both hot and cold water and adequate water pressure, all of which are in working condition. Within the facilities is available cabinet space to store food that does not require refrigeration and counter space for food preparation. Company makes available work trucks or other available vehicles to workers at no cost to access grocery stores whenever necessary outside of work hours.
If desired, employer will charge $4.00 per meal, which will be deducted from the employee's paycheck.
Transport: Inbound and outbound transportation will be provided and paid for by Company in advance of travel. Related daily subsistence will be reimbursed at the prevailing minimum and maximum daily subsistence amount as required by the Department of Labor.
