The job
Prepare calving facility. Calve out calves during the calving season. Medicate, vaccinate and treat for seasonal sicknesses. Care for newborn calves and nursing mothers. Monitor newborn calves and nursing mothers. Isolate sick calves. Feed cattle during snowy/subfreezing periods when no seasonal pasturelands remain available for them to naturally graze upon. Add dry bedding. Remove snow from farm property. Break ice formation in water tanks daily. Fix and repair fencing damaged by drifting snow. Move cattle out to summer grazing pastures. Wean all calves during the weaning season. Basic farm upkeep duties.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Fully furnished kitchen provided. Workers will have access to grocery stores at least once per week.
Transport: The employer will provide advance transportation for reasonable (most economical) common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) in bound transportation (if it is the prevailing practice). If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation costs and subsistence to the employer's work site when the worker completes 50% of the work period
Experience wanted: 6 months
Drivers license in 30-days. Clean driving record required.
