The job

Job duties include preparing scale tickets, monitoring to ensure compliance with moisture and grade standards; transferring grain to proper storage location; transferring grain from storage bins to truck bins prior to shipment; operating augers and conveyors; clearing grain from automatic conveyor system that is causing jams, stoppages, or gaps in grain movement; performing housekeeping duties to ensure that storage locations are properly maintained; performing maintenance & minor miscellaneous repair on augers, grain bins and other tools involved with the storage of grain. Position also involves the harvesting, drying, packing, and storage of mature pecans as well as orchard management. Job will require workers using hand tools, push propelled pickers, sheets, and other orchard equipment to harvest pecans; operating dump carts, shakers, sweepers, harvesters, hedgers, and pecan carts; hedging, clearing the debris from, thinning and pruning pecan trees; performing orchard maintenance which includes pest control and grounds upkeep; cleaning and performing maintenance on harvest, drying, and storage equipment; stacking harvested product in assigned areas; grading and sanitizing pecans; monitoring orchards daily for pests; keeping harvesting records for harvest area identification in the event of contamination; planting tree seedlings; transplanting; weeding; covering harvesting pecans; loading, unloading, packing, and unpacking harvested pecans (conveyor belts, loading machines, separators, cleaners, dryers, sorting machine, trucks etc). Must be able to climb vertical grain leg. Daily duties may vary depending on weather conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will provide, without charge or deposit, free and convenient kitchen and cooking facilities to prepare meals. The workers will be allowed time to drive themselves or will be transported to a store or market to purchase their own food and cooking supplies. Employer provided housing contains a refrigerator, stove, oven, and operational sink with hot and cold water under pressure. In the event that the workers are unable to prepare meals at the housing location, the employer will provide three sufficient meals a day free of charge.

Transport: After worker has completed 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse worker for the cost of transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Employee transportation will be arranged to and from their country of origin by either plane, train, bus, taxi service or own vehicle; whichever is most economical. The employer will properly reimburse employees for such travel as defined in 20 CFR 655.122(h). Continued in Addendum C.

Experience wanted: 2 months

Job requires having, or being able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy skills are required. Job will require workers performing duties outdoors during periods when temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Job duties will also require periods where workers will be required to push, pull, sit, walk, stoop, bend over, or perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
