The job

Duties may include: Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.

Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools.

Clean and lubricate parts. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines & other related Farm Equipment Mechanic activities as per SOC/OES 49-3041 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections. All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food.

Must be 18 due to insurance. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 75lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
