The job

Sort and load cattle. Relocate hay and feed to feed livestock. Mix feed and additives, fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock; remove ice formed in water. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinate animals by placing vaccine in drinking water or feed using syringes and hypodermic needles. Apply medications to cuts and bruises, spray livestock with insecticide. Confine livestock in stalls. Wash and clip livestock to prepare them for calving. Assist veterinarian in delivery of offspring. Knife castrate bulls. Clip identifying notches or symbols on animal using branding iron to indicate ownership. Clean livestock stalls and sheds using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Maintain livestock related buildings and fencing. Maintain breeding, feeding and cost records. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies. Farming with: Beef Cattle. No CDL required and no commercial truck driving required.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services).

Transport: The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and provide reimbursement upon arrival at the farm for all inbound and outbound transportation at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved. This may include plane, train, bus, or automobile.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety
