The job
Rice to include: field prep, water maintenance, drive tractor, planting and harvesting of rice. Help repair and maintain farm equipment, shop, fields, levees, and farm roads. Crawfishing involves cutting up of fish bait, operate motorized & push crawfish boats; traps are removed from the pond, crawfish are emptied into sacks, traps are re-baited and put back into pond; weigh & tag crawfish; load crawfish in truck to deliver to local markets; standing for long periods of time & walking, frequent stooping and lifting of 40 lbs., repetitive movements, and working outside in inclement weather conditions. Housing provided on the premises at no cost. All tools, supplies & equipment furnished at no cost. Employees may make above hourly wage and or receive bonuses based on work performance and experience, may be subject to random drug screen paid by employer upon hire or if suspicions arise--this is a drug free work zone. Transportation & subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. Must have legal authority to work within the United States.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers have access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved to and from the place of employment.
