Exercise Rider for Thoroughbred Horse Farm

The job
1. Ride Thoroughbreds daily to maintain or improve their fitness.
2. Follow training programs set by the trainer or farm manager.
3. Use proper riding techniques to ensure safety and effective conditioning.
4. Help break yearlings (introducing young horses to tack and riding).
5. Work on basic flatwork, transitions, and responsiveness.
6. Prepare horses for sales, racing, or further training.
7. Report signs of lameness, discomfort, or behavioral issues.
8. Notice subtle changes in performance or attitude that may indicate injury or illness.
9. Help with grooming, tacking up, untacking, and bathing horses.
10. Clean tack and riding equipment.
11. Assist with turn-out and bringing horses in from pastures.
12. Use safety gear (helmets, vests) and ensure horses are handled safely.
13. Apply farm protocols for handling young or difficult horses.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: We provide a fully equipped, modern kitchen stocked with all necessary cookware and appliances, available free of charge for workers to prepare their own meals. Additionally, a company vehicle is provided once a week for workers to travel to the local grocery store for shopping needs.
For added convenience, a food truck visits the farm daily, six days a week, offering a variety of meal options for purchase.
Transport: We, JULIE DAVIES, LLC, the employer, will provide and pay the workers for transportation (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for us (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the place of employment to the place from which the worker has come to work for the us (i.e., outbound) in the following way: (see Addendum)
Experience wanted: 12 months
Extensive Experience with Thoroughbred Horses: Candidates must have a strong background working specifically with Thoroughbred horses, particularly in a high-performance or breeding farm environment. A deep understanding of their temperament, physical needs, and handling requirements is essential.
