The job

Plant, transplant, cultivate, harvest, grade, and pack cabbage by language machine. Pre-harvest activities may include staking, tying, planting, transplanting, weeding, laying plastic, removing plastic, and pruning. Remove weeds from around the plants and from the middle of the rows. Walk through an assigned row while bending and reaching to pick ripe fruit; discard any deformed, decayed, or undersized produce according to the supervisor’s instructions. Carefully remove any undesirable fruit from plants that would later cause disease to attack the plant. Grade and pack by size, weight, color, or condition. Discard inferior or defective products in specified containers. Assemble cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools. Stack boxes onto pallets, transport vehicle, or trailers. Count, load, and unload products and/or materials. Clean and maintain containers, materials, supplies, and work areas. Clean around farms and buildings including pulling weeds and raking. Operate, repair, clean, and maintain farm equipment and vehicles. Workers who possess a valid driver’s license, FLCE (with driving authorizartion) and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR SS 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities. Workers who drive on behalf of the company maya be offered additional hours. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid drivers license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. Workers residing in employer-provided housing will be provided free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will

provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Transport: Employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier (e.g., van, bus, plane) transportation charges for the distances involved for both inbound and outbound transportation. Inbound transportation provided from the foreign worker's home city to the U.S. consulate and from the U.S. Consulate to the work site.

One month verifiable farm work experience required. Work in extremely hot, cold and/or wet conditions. Walk, bend, sit, reach, stoop, stand, push/pull, perform repetitive movements, and lift and carry 75pounds.
