The job
Prepare grounds for planting. Plant and maintain crops including spraying, and weeding.Crops include: strawberries, squash, peppers, and cucumbers. check crops for disease and insect problems. Check fields for harvest readiness (ripe strawberries and vegetable maturity. Know how to identify immature fruits and leave them to ripen. Identify and remove/isolate damaged and diseased fruits. harvest fruit carefully and place in clam shells without bruising fill flats and cover when full. Move flats to designated receiving check stations.Clean work areas and maintain grounds.
Housing: Rental or public accommodations
Meals: Employer does not provide meals. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dish-washing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers.
For the 99 workers staying at The Keys Inn and Ambassador Inn , the employer will provide three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and will charge the workers up to $16.78 per day, subject to change with the publication of new rates by the USDOL Office of Foreign Labor Certification in the Federal Register.
Transport: Employer provided transportation will be airplane, charter bus, employer operated vehicle, or other common means depending on the workers' country or State of origin. All common means of transportation will meet applicable safety standards and will abide by 20 CFR 655.122(h)(1) & (2). Continued
