The job

Prepare traps for crawfish put bait into the traps and dropping them into the ponds from boats,

harvesting crawfish by pulling traps out of the water and into the boat, emptying traps into

sorters, sort crawfish by size and put into crawfish sacks re-bait traps and drop back into the

pond, load crawfish onto trucks for shipping. General farm maintenance, filling vehicles and

outboard motors with fuel, moving boats and trucks to crawfish ponds on the farm, cleaning up

shop area and around farm. The workers are employed to collect crawfish that are harvested

by launching boats and pulling traps from ponds that contain crawfish, the crawfish are

dumped into sorting trays; the traps are re-baited and dropped back into the pond

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The house where the workers reside is fully equipped with an gas range, oven, microwave and

refrigerator. Workers will prepare their own meals. Two times per week the employer will

provide free transportation for the worker to drive to the grocery store that is located three miles

from the farm residence. The employer provides free of charge a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup

truck for the worker to drive from the housing location to the work site and return each day.

Transport: Employees are wired money to get their visa in Mexico and a bus ticket to Arizona along with their daily per diem or food and other daily expenses. When they arrive in Arizona there is a bus ticket waiting for them to get to Lake Charles, LA where they are picked up and brought to the farm.
