The job

Crops: Broccoli, Cauliflower, Lettuce

Duties may include: Harvesting: Workers walk behind field pack machine, bend to near ground level and cut commodity with knife after determining the quality is acceptable. Worker will then pitch commodity into conveyor machine. Workers will check quality and put into boxes. Worker will use plastic bags to pack commodity, then seal with tape. Workers will stack boxes onto pallets. Field work: Workers will be planting, cultivating, pulling or hoeing weeds in vegetable fields, carry and connect irrigation pipe, tilling soil, thinning, counting and checking crops. Include driving and controlling equipment such as tractors to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. Mechanics: Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunctions. Workers may perform basic equipment troubleshooting, routine machinery servicing, and minor repairs on farm vehicles, implements, and machinery. (Performs this job duty less than 50% of the total work days of the contract). Crew Leader: A crew leader manages daily field operations, supervises team members, and ensures projects stay on schedule, meet quality standards, and follow safety rules.Perform any other duties associated with fieldwork and vegetable production & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. Workers residing in employer-provided housing will be provided free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Transport: Employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier (e.g., van, bus, plane) transportation charges for the distances involved for both inbound and outbound transportation. Inbound transportation provided from the foreign worker's home city to the U.S. consulate and from the U.S. Consulate to the work site.

Must be 18 years of age. Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 40lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
