The job
Receive day-old chicks and care for them until market weight. Provide daily feeding, watering, and monitoring of flock health. Remove and properly dispose of dead birds each day. Maintain cleanliness of poultry houses, including removal of litter and debris. Prepare houses for new flocks every 8 weeks, including cleaning, disinfection, and equipment repair. Assist with minor maintenance of facilities and equipment as needed. Follow biosecurity and animal welfare protocols at all times.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The housing has free and convenient kitchen facilities with utensils, stove, refrigeration, and
dishwashing accommodations for the H2A workers, and those workers in corresponding
cooking and kitchen facilities will be maintained in working order and are sufficient for workers
to provide and prepare three meals a day. The employer will provide free transportation to
stores at least once a week to allowed workers to shop for groceries and other necessary
items. In the event the housing indicated in this clearance order becomes unavailable and the
employer secures alternate housing which does not contain free and convenient kitchen
facilities (in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122 (d) (6), the employer will provide each worker
with three meals per day.
Transport: Transportation from the point of recruitment to the worksite and back, including travel to and
from the country of origin, will be arranged and provided by the employer. Workers may choose
their preferred method of travel and will be reimbursed at no less than the most economical
and reasonable common carrier rate for the distance. The employer will cover all inbound and
outbound transportation costs.
