The job
Drives/operates modern farm equipment with GPS technology to harvest and to store grain crops of corn, soybeans, canola, wheat, barley and haul crops. Attaches farm implements, e.g. plow, disc, drill to tractor and drives tractor. Tows harvesting equipment, drives/operates self-propelled combine to harvest crops such as wheat, corn, peas, alfalfa, sunflowers and soybeans. Performs other duties like lubricating, repairing farm machinery and transports produce to elevator or storage area.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities for meal preparation. Workers will buy their own groceries. Once a week the employers will offer to provide (on a voluntary basis by the workers) free transportation to assure workers access to the closest store where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: The employer will provide advance transportation for reasonable common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) inbound transportation. If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation costs and subsistence to the employer's work site when the worker completes 50% of the work period.
Experience wanted: 3 months
To comply with Federal, State and County regulations must be willing to obtain an appropriate driver's license (class D) within two months of employment. If applicant does have a license, applicant must furnish employer with current drivers abstract showing acceptable driving record.
