The job
We need a sseasonal employee to assist with our crop production Employee will need to assist with all job duties assigned related to growing these crops. The seasonal agricultural worker will perform duties primarily related to the production of corn, wheat, soybeans, and peanuts, with limited duties involving horses. Crop production duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, planters, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; and operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other agricultural machinery. Duties will include planting, cultivating, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizer and pesticide solutions using hand sprayers to control insects, fungus, weeds, and plant diseases; and irrigating crops using portable pipe or ditch irrigation systems. The worker will maintain irrigation ditches, pipes, pumps, and related equipment; observe and listen to machinery during operation to identify malfunctions; inspect, adjust, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm machinery and equipment; and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on irrigation systems and related components. Limited horse-related duties may include feeding, watering, checking horses for general health or injury, and maintaining clean and safe areas for the horses. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration),cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g., adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will offer free transportation to town for personal services (i.e. banking, groceries) at least once per week for non range workers.
Transport: The employer will pay the worker for reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad to the place of employment (inbound/outbound). The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.
Experience wanted: 3 months
Three months of previous farm experience is required. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive sitting and walking, and frequent stooping and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. No driver's license is required. Require 3 months experience.
