The job
General farm worker needed for crawfish and rice. Help repair and maintain farm equipment, shop, fields, levees, and farm roads. Field prep, water maintenance, prep fields & harvesting of rice, drive tractor. Crawfishing involves manually cutting up of fish bait, baiting of traps; opérate Crawfish boat: frequent stooping and lifting traps, lifting requirement of 40 lbs.,repetitive movements and working outside in inclement weather conditions. All tools, supplies & equipment provided at no cost. Housing provided on the premises at no cost. Transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. Employees may make above hourly wage and or receive bonuses based on work performance and experience, may be subject to random drug screen paid by employer upon hire or if suspicions arise--this is a drug free work zone. Must have legal authority to work within the United States.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers have access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved to and from the place of employment.
