The job
Harvest citrus, vegetables, strawberries and blueberries; and, field care. Citrus Harvesting - Following the supervisors instructions, the worker will place a picking sack over their
shoulder and carry an 18 to 20' ladder from the field truck to the particular area of the grove to be harvested. The picking sack is a canvas bag equipped with a shoulder strap for
support. Worker positions ladder against the tree and within reach of the fruit in a leaning position, taking care not to break limbs, damage the tree, knock off fruit, or interfere with other
workers, in a secure position to prevent slipping or falling and possible injury to themselves or other workers. Worker will remove fruit from the tree and place into pick sack. When pick
sack is full take to fruit tub located in the grove and drop fruit pick sack into tub. Field care Clean drip emitters and microjets, remove plastic drip lines, cleaning alleys, pruning dead
wood from skirts and sucker/watersprout removal, remove dead plants, and weed removal. Blueberry Harvesting - Pluck blueberries from bush by hand, place in baskets, in flats or in
masters, turn fruit in at site being collected. Strawberry Harvesting - Pluck strawberries from plant by hand, place in baskets, in flats or in masters, turn fruit in at site being collected.
Harvest Vegetables - move around field to picking location and pluck vegetables from plants, walk to and empty buckets into bins. Workers must follow supervisors' instructions on
ladder safety, food safety, hand washing, use of restrooms, and handling of fruit. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Job is outdoors and continues in all types of
weather. Must be able to work long hours in direct sunlight, where weather conditions may be hot and humid, rain is possible and worker will be exposed to pollen the entire day while
performing he job duties. The majority of the workday is spent on ones feet and outdoors. Hours and days of work may vary due to weather conditions. Must be able to lift 80-100lbs. to
shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday and able to lift and carry 80-100lbs. in field. Workers may be required to submit to random drug tests at the discretion of the
employer. Drug testing and background checks may be performed during the interview process. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours
strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination. All physical requirements will take place in an outdoor environment
exposed to the elements for extended periods of time.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate
equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation.
Also will provide transportation once per week to go to the stores and do laundry. THE WORKERS WILL COOK. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE LUNCHES OR REDUCE ANY WAGE FOR PROVIDING THE KITCHEN. THE KITCHEN IS ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE HOUSING
Transport: The inbound transportation will be reimbursed on the basis of no less than the most economical and reasonable charges for the
distance involved. For outbound, If the worker completes the work contract period, or is terminated without cause, the employer will
provide or pay for the worker?s transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker,
disregarding intervening employment, came to work for the employer, or, if the worker has contracted with a
