The job
Duties may include: Crawfishing; repairing crawfish traps as needed; setting out crawfish traps and putting stakes out in crawfish fields; manually cutting up of fish bait, baiting traps, operate motorized or push crawfish boats; while crawfishing traps are removed from the pond, crawfish are emptied into sacks, traps are re-baited and put back into pond, setting traps; removing traps from field at end of season; stocking crawfish ponds; weigh& tag crawfish, wash and grade crawfish, load crawfish in truck to deliver to markets/plants. May also include driving tractor or other equipment, field preparations, planting and harvesting of rice and soybean crop, fertilizing, plowing, digging ditches; fixing levees; assist with loading/unloading rice trucks, shipping out rice; must be able to drive vehicle to various farm locations and crawfish plants/markets; spraying to maintain vegetation; maintain rice bins to include clean up rice spills, sweeping rice spills/pins, help repair & maintain farm equipment, shop, fields, levees, and farm roads, water maintenance.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so worker may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers have access to stores where they can purchase groceries and other necessary items.
Transport: The Employer will provide or pay in advance for transportation, and related daily subsistence, for charter bus services, or other modes of transportation to workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose, and reimburse those workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved for both inbound and outbound travel.

Job involves frequent stooping and exposure to extreme temps must be able to lift and carry sufficient weight to lift, carry and move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks. The Employer will rely on workers' own representations and observations of workers to assess if the workers meet this qualification.
Schedule includes one unpaid lunch hour.
Base hours offered is 40 hours/week offered; Additional hours are usually offered during plentiful season and may include an additional 10-40 hours of overtime work depending on the nature of the season.
