The job
Operate feedlot machinery including feed truck, feed wagon, pay loader, tractor with end scraper, and manure truck. Perform general servicing and repairs of feedlot equipment. Animal husbandry duties include feeding livestock, treating sick cattle, scraping pens, and hauling manure to maintain quality living spaces for the animals during the winter months. Other miscellaneous and manual feedlot duties as needed. Livestock include but are not limited to feeder calves, yearling cattle, and fat cattle.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will offer transportation at no cost to workers occupying employer-provided housing to and from stores in the locality of the housing so workers may purchase food and other necessities.
Transport: In accordance with H-2A regulatory requirements, the following provisions pertaining to reimbursement of transportation and subsistence costs to and from the place of employment apply only to persons eligible for employer-provided housing (i.e. non-local workers).
In the event higher required subsistence reimbursements are published in the Federal Register prior to the employee’s travel, the employee will be reimbursed at such higher rates.
Experience wanted: 3 months
License required is class D, standard drivers license. It may be requested that candidates obtain a certified drivers license and candidates will have 2 weeks to achieve this. 3 months of experience as an agricultural equipment operator required. No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided.
