The job
Farm workers needed for crawfish season followed by rice season. Seasonal need begins with preparing for crawfish season in December and continues into rice planting and harvesting in fall. Crawfish season extends from mid Janaury until early summer. Rice is planted in or around March. Harvesting of rice occurs during late summer and fall.
Duties: manually cutting fish bait; baiting and checking traps; grading and washing crawfish for shipment; making and repairing traps as needed; tractor driving; field preparation*; water maintenance; fertilizing, planting, and harvesting crops; repairing and maintaining equipment, fields, levees, roads, and shops; operating crawfish boat.
Field preparation includes manual shovel work and hoeing weeds, spot spraying treatments, and extensive walking.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so that the worker may prepare his or her own meals. Employer will provide utensils for cooking, food preparation, serving, and eating at no cost to the worker. Employer will provide transportation to assure that the worker has access to stores where the worker can purchases groceries.
Transport: FOR INBOUND AND OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION, THE USUAL MODE OF TRANSPORT IS A COMMERCIAL BUS.
THE EMPLOYER WILL REIMBURSE THE WORKERS ONCE THEY ARRIVE, AT NO LESS THAN THE MOST ECONOMICAL AND REASONABLE COMMON CARRIER TRANSPORTATION CHARGES FOR THE DISTANCE INVOLVED. MEALS AND LODGING WILL BE REIMBURSED TO THE WORKER AT THE DAILY SUBSISTENCE AMOUNTS REQUIRED BY LAW.

Workers may be required to take random, post-accident, and/or upon suspicion drug test post hire at no cost to worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
