The job

Workers will prepare feed rations for livestock using feed-mill machinery located on the farm. Workers will prepare and distribute feed rations according to the nutritional requirements and feeding schedules established for livestock. Workers will monitor feed supplies and assist with ensuring that livestock have adequate feed available according to established feeding schedules. Duties will include operating and monitoring feed mill machinery used to grind, mix, and prepare grain and livestock feed rations for use on farms. Workers will measure and combine grains, feed ingredients, additives, and other materials according to established feed formulas and instructions. Workers will operate controls and monitor the milling and mixing of feed to ensure ingredients are combined in the required proportions. Duties will include placing feed into the appropriate milling and mixing equipment, monitoring the preparation of feed rations, and removing or transferring prepared feed. Workers will weigh grains, ingredients, additives, and prepared feed using scales and other weighing equipment. Workers will record weights, quantities, batch information, and other required records. Workers will read feed formulas, instructions, and schedules to determine the ingredients and quantities required for each feed ration. Workers will inspect ingredients and prepared feed for proper condition, consistency, and quantity and will notify the employer of any discrepancies or problems with the feed or milling operation. Workers will maintain accurate inventory records of grains, feed ingredients, additives, and other feed mill supplies and will notify the employer when supplies need to be replenished. Workers will organize ingredients and supplies within designated storage areas and maintain orderly feed storage areas. Workers will place feed into designated containers, bins, or storage areas and prepare feed rations for use in livestock feeding operations. Any tasks derived from a Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) other than the SOC designated in this job order are strictly incidental in nature, performed only on an occasional basis, and constitute less than the majority of the contractual period, and shall not be construed as reflective of the primary occupation for which certification is sought.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services).

Transport: The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and provide reimbursement upon arrival at the farm for all inbound and outbound transportation at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved. This may include plane, train, bus, or automobile.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion.
