The job

Skill Level 1 Row Crops: Duties to include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops such as corn, wheat, soybeans, etc. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor and drive tractor in field to till soil and plant/cultivate crop. Perform variety of other duties such as husking and shelling corn, lubricating and repairing farm machinery and unloading grain onto conveyors to storage bins and elevators Alternative: General farm maintenance and other duties as necessary in maintaining farming operation. Includes, but not limited to, preparing barns, draining fields, preparing soil for planting, maintenance of implements & equipment & other work as directly related to the harvest activities for which the worker is employed. Also include fixing and emptying and painting of fence/barns. Participate in livestock operation, duties may include, but not limited to, feeding, tagging, vaccinations, movement from pen to pen, loading and unloading as needed, and sorting. Such work will be offered when weather or harvest conditions prevent work in the primary activities listed above. General Conditions: If work is available beyond normal workdays, employer may offer, but not require, worker an opportunity to work additional hours. Workers will report to work at designated time and place as directed by assigned employer each day. workers may be requested to ten (10) hours per day depending on conditions in fields and the maturity of the crops. Also, workers may be requested to work on federal holidays and their Sabbath but will not be required. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Down time: Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employer’s control. These periods can occur any time throughout the season. Worker may be required to work in fields when crops are wet with dew / rain and should have suitable clothing for conditions which include light rain and temperatures ranging from 10 degrees to more than 100 degrees. Workers should be able to stand, bend, stoop and work for prolonged periods of time and be physically fit to perform duties as assigned. Care must always be exercised with any use of equipment.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so that workers can prepare their own meals (or furnish meals). Kitchen facilities will have necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration), cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities with adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. The employer will also provide transportation, at least once each week, to ensure that workers have access to stores where they can purchase supplies, personal needs and groceries to prepare their own meals.

Transportation will be supplied at no cost to worker in employer owned and insured 2003 Chevy Tahoe with seating capacity of 8 persons.

Transport: After the worker has completed 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the workers' for reasonable cost of inbound transportation, rather by charter bus or other mode of transportation worker chooses, and subsistence from the place of recruitment to place of work site.

The employer will train the workers for a period of two day after which the worker will be expected to work without constant supervision.

Tools and Equipment: The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required in the performance of the specified work.

Workers will be charged for any willful damage or loss of such tools, equipment and employer provided housing.
