The job
The worker will perform manual agricultural labor related to the planting, cultivation, harvesting, and grading ,sweet potatoes. Duties include, but are not limited to: Hand harvesting sweet potatoes. Picking, cutting, sorting, and grading produce according to quality standards. Grading produce into boxes, bins, or containers Loading and unloading harvested crops. Pulling weeds and performing general field maintenance. Assisting with planting, cultivating, and caring for crops as directed. Removing damaged or diseased produce from the field. Cleaning and maintaining work areas, equipment, and packing areas. Following all food safety, quality control, and employer safety procedures. Performing other related agricultural duties as assigned. Workers must be able to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and repetitive hand motions throughout the workday.. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination. All physical requirements will take place in an outdoor environment exposed to the elements for extended periods of time.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will provide a free and convenient cooking facility and kitchen (including utensils) that will enable the workers to prepare their own meals at camp. Free transportation in an approved vehicle will be provided at least once each week . Subject to change with the publication of new rates by the Office of Foreign Labor Certification in the Federal Register. The employer will provide free transportation once per week to and from the laundry facility and store to obtain other necessities.
Transport: For workers recruited outside the area of intended employment, transportation and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed by the employer in accordance with 20 CFR § 655.122(h). Transportation from last place of employment to home country: If the worker completes the work contract period, or if the worker is terminated without cause, and the worker has no immediate H-2A employment, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence.
