The job

We are a large and diverse farming operation with multiple farms spanning from Uvalde county to Zavala County. During December to March we will be producing, primarily cabbage, spinach, onions and wheat. However we do produce a large

range of row and vegetable crops. Our equipment consists of late to new model John Deere tractors of various sizes. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements, clean work areas, maintain grounds and landscaping, tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops, use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: GPS guidance systems, forklift, mowers and other landscaping equipment, skid steers, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: vegetables, wheat. Workers will need to operate multiple types of implements including but not limited to discing, tilling, bed shaping, cultivating, and mowing. Workers may also assist during plantings with miscellaneous tasks: ie loading seed. In the event of severe weather we will be doing shop work and repairs. During any slow periods we will assign cleaning tasks. Must speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 1 months

One (1) month of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
