The job

Workers will perform a variety of duties related to greenhouse operations, water management, property and building maintenance, equipment upkeep, and other seasonal agricultural work. Duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the time of year and the operational needs of the business. Greenhouse duties include preparing the greenhouse for the growing season, planting, watering, general plant care, and ongoing maintenance and upkeep to keep the greenhouse operational. Workers will also assist with water management, including monitoring and maintaining water systems, lines, and related equipment as needed. Additional duties include cleaning and preparing buildings and work areas for their intended seasonal use, including transitioning buildings and areas between seasonal operations. Workers will help maintain clean, safe, and organized work environments at properties and buildings owned and operated by the business. Duties may include building and ground upkeep, general cleaning, equipment and vehicle maintenance when used, fencing repairs, and proper disposal of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste in designated and appropriate locations. During colder months, duties may include snow and ice removal, breaking ice, thawing lines, and other work necessary to maintain safe and functional operations. Workers may be required to operate tractors, skid steers, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties. Workers must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, maintain a polite and helpful attitude, and communicate any work-related problems or concerns to designated management.

The specific duties and workload may vary throughout the period of need based on seasonal conditions and the operational needs of the business.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
