General Farm Laborer

The job

Perform routine livestock facility support, including but not limited to, animal handling, and sanitation duties at a commercial swine operation. Duties include maintaining biosecurity procedures; cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting animal housing areas, equipment, and livestock facilities; power washing barns and rooms; scraping and cleaning alleyways; monitoring and maintaining rodent control measures; removing and disposing of animal mortalities; preparing rooms and facilities for animal movement and placement; moving livestock between designated areas under established procedures; loading livestock trailers; tagging animals for identification purposes; conducting routine animal measurements and observations according to company protocols; handling supplies and materials; maintaining sanitation stations; and performing related livestock support and facility maintenance duties. Snow removal during snow days. Other duties assigned by supervisors. To be specific, this role will have contact with animals, but this role does not require regular animal health related tasks.

Work is performed under established procedures and direct supervision and does not include breeding, artificial insemination, farrowing management, animal health diagnosis, routine medical treatment, feed management, or production decision-making. No education or experience related to animal breeding is required for this role.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries and/or other incidentals.

If free and convenient kitchen facilities become unavailable for any reason, the employer will provide three (3) meals a day for which it will charge individual workers, by payroll deduction, no more than the daily permitted amount as provided in 20 CFR 655.173, which was $16.78 as of April 7, 2026, and which may be increased during the period of this employment.

Transport: Employer will either arrange for inbound and outbound transportation via a charter bus service for the worker, or if the worker prefers to arrange their own transportation, Employer will reimburse the worker at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved as well as for the related daily subsistence costs while the worker is traveling. Experience wanted: 3 months

Three (3) months of experience working with livestock. Workers must be able to follow detailed biosecurity protocol. Workers must have the ability to lift and carry 75 pounds for 75 yards. Post-employment drug tests are paid for by employer when applicable. The employer reserves the right to conduct a background check post-hire at the employers expense IF the employer deems it necessary.
