The job
General farm workers for crawfish & rice season. Crawfishing to include: bait crawfish traps, operate motorized crawfish boats; lift traps from pond; load crawfish on truck and bring back to farm; unload sacks of crawfish; repair and maintain traps, farm equipment, shop, field levees, and farm roads as needed; Frequent stooping, lifting requirement of 40 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, working outside in inclement weather conditions; Rice to include assist in planting and harvest with tractor and cart. Tools, supplies & equipment provided at no cost to workers. Housing provided on the premises at no cost. Employees may make above hourly wage and or receive bonuses based on work performance and experience, may be subject to random drug screen paid by employer upon hire or if suspicions arise--this is a drug free work zone. Transportation & subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. Must have legal authority to work within the U.S.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers have access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved to and from the place of employment.
