The job
On farms, snow removal and winter fertilizer handling/storage maintenance and repair work. Drain and winterize feed lines, manifolds, tanks and related fertilizer equipment; clean residue; inspect piping, valves, fittings and connections; repair damaged or deteriorated components; protect equipment from freezing and winter damage. Systematically inspect, clean, service, repair, rebuild, reassemble and test pumps and motors together with related valves, air lines, fittings, couplings and controls. Strip deteriorated paint and coatings; remove fertilizer residue, rust and corrosion; prepare affected surfaces; apply primer, epoxy and/or protective coatings; perform facility upkeep and final preparation for the spring fertilizer season. Maintain and repair agricultural commodity and equipment storage buildings. Operate tractors with snow blower attachments, trucks with plows, skid loaders with snow buckets and sweeps, shovels, hand and power tools, air- compressors and pneumatic hand tools. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs for 50 yds. Must have 3 months of farm equipment maintenance and repair experience and ability to obtain a US driver’s license within 30 days of date of hire.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: The employer will provide advance transportation for a reasonable (most economical) common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) for inbound and outbound transportation (if it is the prevailing practice). If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for the transportation costs and subsistence to the employer’s worksite when the worker completes 50% of the work period.

Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs for 50 yds. Must have 3 months of farm equipment maintenance and repair experience and ability to obtain a US drivers license within 30 days of date of hire.
