The job

Crops: Carrots, Radishes, Parsley, Cilantro, Beets.

This job requires machine harvesting of bulk radish, carrots, and beets; hand harvesting vegetables; irrigation, planting, tractor/mechanical maintenance, crop preparation, crop protection, crop transport, machinery maintenance and teardown/ sanitation of grounds/facilities by the worker.

Workers can also: 1. Drive tractors 2. Spray and mix chemicals and fertilizers 3. Operate trucks to carry farm equipment, crops and farmworkers 4. Perform general repair of agricultural equipment. 5. Pack crops into containers.

Field Worker will do the following tasks: Plant transplants and/or seeds. Harvest a variety of produce. Lift and Stack produce on trucks for transport to main farm. Perform weeding as needed. Follow instructions from Field Supervisors. Keep production levels at crew rates. Work with irrigation systems. Perform manual labor as needed. Work safely, following procedures and instructions. Follow instructions regarding hygiene and food safety.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. Workers residing in employer-provided housing will be provided free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Transport: Employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier (e.g., van, bus, plane) transportation charges for the distances involved for both inbound and outbound transportation. Inbound transportation provided from the foreign worker's home city to the U.S. consulate and from the U.S. Consulate to the work site.

Experience wanted: 2 months

Workers must have at least 2 months of experience in row crop experience specific to the crops we grow. Specific requirements include lifting up to 60 pounds.

Specific Job Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach for long periods of time. 2. Responsible for helping with day- to-day farming operations in their designated area on the row crop farm.

3. Duties include harvesting, packaging, weeding, washing and cooling of row crop vegetables to meet production standards and procedures.

4. The work is under the general direction of a supervisor or employer and is subject to periodic review by the supervisors for results obtained, changes in work methods, and adherence to policies.

5. Maximize crop by best weeding and harvesting practices.

7. Work with crews that move and set up irrigation pipes.

Training: There will be a demonstration period to familiarize workers with job specifications and to demonstrate proper methods and other crop-specific issues.
