The job

We need a seasonal employee to assist with our corn, wheat, sorghum, and soybean crop production. Employee will need to assist with all job duties assigned related to growing these crops. Prepare fields for planting; attach plows, discs, sprayers, harvesters, and other farm implements to tractors using hand tools; operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, farm semi-trucks, and other agricultural machinery; perform planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting activities; install, maintain, and perform routine repairs on pivot irrigation systems; load and unload crops, supplies, and materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, hand trucks, augers, shovels, and pitchforks; operate and adjust equipment controls and monitor machinery during operation to identify malfunctions or conditions requiring maintenance; inspect equipment before and during use and perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, tightening, adjusting, replacing minor worn parts, and making basic repairs; perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm machinery, vehicles, irrigation systems, plumbing, and sprinkler systems; assist with keeping equipment and machinery in safe operating condition; drive farm semi-trucks to transport crops, supplies, tools, and equipment; maintain basic records of equipment maintenance and agricultural activities; and report equipment malfunctions or repair needs to the employer or designated personnel. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration),cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g., adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will offer free transportation to town for personal services (i.e. banking, groceries) at least once per week for non range workers.

Transport: The employer will pay the worker for reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad to the place of employment (inbound/outbound). The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, prolonged sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending, and repetitive movements. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, possess a valid regular drivers license, and have at least three months of previous farm work experience.
