The job
Use trucks, tractors, shovels and skid loaders to remove snow to allow easy access to animals, barns and roads. Insulate and winterize ag buildings and set up outdoor cold- weather shelters for horses. Move hay huts out to pastures along with putting round bales out with tractor once a week or more as weather and animals dictate. Repair and maintain farm equipment and winterize it for the cold weather including all tractors, JD Gators, farm vehicles, all outdoor hydrants, generators to make sure emergency equipment for storms is all in working order. Check daily on all automatic waterers outside to keep water flowing to prevent dehydration to animals and damage to equipment from freezing. Make sure inside hoses are drained and put away daily in heated area. 3 months agricultural equipment operation required. Must be able to lift and carry 75lbs for 75yds and work outside in temperature extremes.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: The employer will provide advance transportation for a reasonable (most economical) common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) for inbound and outbound transportation (if it is the prevailing practice). If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for the transportation costs and subsistence to the employer’s worksite when the worker completes 50% of the work period.
