The job
All aspects of commercial beekeeping. Maintain quality hives. Move hives between different field and orchard locations. Add extra boxes to produce honey. Remove boxes from honey production and extract honey. Feed and medicate bees. Package finished honey products. Operate forklift to load supers onto trucks. Transport hives using trucks. General sanitation of plant.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Fully furnished kitchen provided. Workers will have access to grocery stores at least once per week.
Transport: The employer will provide advance transportation for reasonable (most economical) common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) in bound transportation (if it is the prevailing practice). If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation costs and subsistence to the employer's work site when the worker completes 50% of the work period.
Experience wanted: 3 months
Must be able to provide references to verify experience. Must be able to work for the entire itinerary and join the employer at any one of the locations that the employer has a crew located at that time. No fear of/non-allergic to bees/pollen. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
