The job

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time.

The total number of workers needed for this job opportunity is 48. However, groups of workers will arrive at different times. 30 workers will be needed starting 12/07/2026 and the remaining 18 workers will start 12/21/2026. All workers will have the same end date (05/15/2027).

Citrus Harvesting: Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Citrus Harvesting is the number one priority of the H2A workers. The worker will place a picking sack over their shoulder and carry an 18’ to 20’ ladder from the field truck to the area in the grove to be harvested. The picking sack is a canvas bag equipped with a shoulder strap for support, an opening for the insertion of fruit, and an opening to remove fruit. A fully loaded sack weighs between 80 and 100 pounds, depending on the size, condition, and variety of fruit. Worker will position ladder against tree and within reach of fruit in a leaning position, taking care not to break limbs, damage the tree, knock fruit off the tree or interfere with other workers in a secure position while worker climbs the ladder, preventing slipping or falling and possible injury to themselves or other workers to remove the fruit. Workers will remove the fruit from the tree and place into a pick sack. When pick sack is full worker must climb down the ladder with full sack and unload into fruit tub located close to trees being picked in the grove and drop fruit from pick sack into tub. In order to perform this kind of work, workers must be able to work outside for at least 7 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat the picking process rapidly, working quickly and skillfully with their hands, carrying and removing daily a large number of sacks of fruit being picked by the worker to the tub. After harvesting is complete at each grove location, workers will help clean up all equipment used in the harvesting process including picking sacks, stacking fruit tubs, harvesting equipment, picking ladders, water coolers and to remove all trash debris, tree leaves and limbs. Harvesters will also repair any destruction harvesters caused to the microjets or poly-tubing from the picking process prior to leaving the grove. If time does not permit harvesters can return to grove to repair microjets and poly-tubing.

General Farm Labor and Housing Clean Up for Harvesting Workers: When harvesting work is not available, workers may be required to perform miscellaneous work on grove property to include early mid and Valencia tree injections, sprouting, pruning young trees and painting young orange tree trunks, weed and vine removal, irrigation repair and replacement; harvesting workers will be required to keep H2A housing facilities clean, repair any structure damage, and remove any debris from their living facilities. H2A workers may need to assist in the use of farm equipment, trucks, vans, and harvesting machinery. It is estimated that 10% of the time for any H2A worker with a valid Driver’s License may be required to assist in transporting workers to the various groves and back to their current living facilities, provided a medical certificate is active.

Agricultural Equipment Operator: Worker will operate tractors, other agricultural equipment, and hand tools to remove citrus trees from grove, and install, repair, or replace grove irrigation systems. Worker must have experience operating farm equipment and have adequate knowledge to make minor adjustments or repairs in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will provide free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and free weekly transportation to the grocery store to workers living in employer-provided housing which will enable workers to prepare their own meals.

Transport: Inbound: Workers will determine their own inbound travel arrangements to the place of employment to begin the job contract. The employer will reimburse all workers for their reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer.
