The job

Skill Level I. Greenhouse; all activities in preparing greenhouse/hoop house for seeding & plant maintenance, soil preparations, plant bed preparation, seeding and transplant activities associated with flowers/vegetables/fruits plant production in greenhouse, hoop house as well as in the fields. Care must be taking during transplanting as plants are tender and subject to break. Workers will insure temperature is controlled for optimal for plant growth and plants are watered as needed. Planting, Cultivating, & Harvesting Vegetables/Fruits: Duties to include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plow, disc fields to prepare for planting. Lay plastic, set plants, fertilize, manage irrigation, weeding with hoe by hand, driving stakes, cultivate, harvest, grading / sort & pack vegetables in boxes, all activities associated with fruit and vegetable production. Care needs to be taken during these activities to insure fruits and vegetables are not bruised during planting, cultivating, harvesting as well as grading/sorting and packing to prevent crop loss when preparing for market. During summer month irrigate crops as needed. Cleaning greenhouse, replace plastic on greenhouse as needed. Alternative Work; General farm maintenance and other duties as required in the farming operation maintenance including feeding chickens, sheep and cattle. Also includes fixing and clearing fences to ensure cattle do not trespass on neighboring fields and crop or onto highways. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities listed above. Worker may be required to work in fields when crops are wet with dew / rain and should have suitable clothing for conditions which include light rain and temperatures ranging from 30 degrees to more than 100 degrees. Workers should be able to stand, bend, stoop and work for prolonged periods of time and be physically fit to perform duties as assigned. Care must be exercised with use of all equipment to prevent injury self and other workers.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so that workers can prepare their own meals (or furnish meals). Kitchen facilities will have necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration), cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities, adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. The employer will also provide transportation at no cost to the workers' at least once each week to stores where they can purchase supplies, personal items and groceries to prepare their own meals. When working in the fields workers will be provided with transportation to employer provided housing to fix lunch unless workers' choose to prepare lunch and bring with them. Transportation will be provided in 2004 F350 Ford pickup truck with seating for 5.

Transport: The employer is a fixed site employer, employer will not advance transportation and subsistence costs to workers for transportation to

the place of employment. This applies only to workers for whom the employer is legally obligated to supply housing. After the worker

has completed 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the workers' for reasonable cost of inbound

transportation, rather by charter bus or other mode of transportation the worker chooses.

The employer will train the workers for a period of two day after which the worker will be expected to work without constant supervision.

Tools and Equipment:

The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required in the performance of the specified work. Workers will be charged for any willful damage or loss of such tools, equipment and housing.

Operating motor vehicles or farm machinery under the influence of drug or alcohol is illegal and prohibited by law. Operating tools and

equipment as applicable and noted in the job description while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is dangerous and noted in operator

manuals-Do Not Operate under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol. Workmans' Comp. Insurance as well as vehicle insurance companies require safety compliance. Poor judgement, improper driving, etc can result in serious and fatal accidents.
