The job
General farm labor, including but not limited to planting, irrigating, cultivating, and harvesting sod; maintaining and servicing farm equipment; driving and maintaining farm equipment including but not limited to tractors, vehicles, lawn mowers, and weed eaters. Workers may receive wage increases and merit-based bonuses based upon merit, skill, and/or experience at the sole discretion of the employer.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: As part of the employer-provided housing, Winrock will provide each H-2A worker with kitchen facilities in lieu of meals, including clean space for food preparation, cooking and refrigeration appliances, and facilities for dishwashing. Employees have access to a local grocery store within 35 miles of the residence, and the workers are provided transportation to purchase supplies as needed. In accordance with departmental regulations at 20 C.F.R. section 655.135, Winrock agrees as part of the Application for Temporary Employment Certification and job offer that it will abide by each and every requirement set forth in its regulation.
Transport: For transportation to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and from the place of employment to the place from which the worker departed (i.e., outbound), the employer will pay for the airline ticket(s) for the worker or permit the worker to select any means of transportation they choose to be reimbursed for at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.
Experience wanted: 2 months
Must be able to lift 55 lbs. Must have 2 months' experience in turfgrass production and/or landscaping industry. Must be able to use forklifts, sod harvesters, and tractors. Must be able to perform maintenance on farming equipment and trucks.
