The job
Duties include driving and operating farm machinery such as tractors and combines to perform farm activities such as planting, cultivation, harvesting of crops wheat & beans. Workers will drive tractors installed with GPS. Operate designated towing equipment, drills, disks, and drags to furrow and prepare the soil, seed and fertilize. They will transport materials, supplies or crops from fields or bin storage to designated locations of local elevators. Routine maintenance will be done on all equipment & grounds. Workers must be able to work independently after given instructions and must be team players when needed.
Requirements:
- Employees have valid driver’s license or obtain one in 60 days.
- Cell phone usage is limited to business-related calls only.
- NO TEXTING.
- No smoking in equipment, vehicles, housing or grounds.
- No drinking alcoholic beverages during working hours and otherwise discouraged.
- Must be able to read, understand and speak English for record keeping and safety reasons.
- No Educational level required.
- Must have three months’ GPS and farm machinery experience with towed implements
Must be able to understand, speak, read and write English for safety reasons and record keeping.
Must be able to communicate with owners and other employees about jobs and various tasks.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The workers will have a fully furnished kitchen with cooking and eating utensils where they can prepare their meals. When they cannot return for meals they will be provide with lunch cooler to pack their lunches.
Workers will be provided with transportation one a week to the closest grocery store where the workers can purchase their groceries and personal item. Distance to the closest grocery store is 15 miles.
Transport: Upon completion of 50% work of the contract, the Employer will reimburse the worker's cost of (inbound) airfare and daily subsistence a minimum reimbursement of $ 16.78 per day and a maximum reimbursement of $ 68.00 per day receipts required from place of recruitment to placement of work. Once 100% completion of contract the employer will pay (outbound) return cost to the place of recruitment, except when the worker does not return to the place of recruitment or an extension has been filed.
