The job
Provide specialized daily care for elite polo horses by preparing and distributing individualized feed, hay, supplements, and water; observe horses for signs of illness, lameness, injury, or behavioral changes and report concerns to trainers or veterinarians; administer prescribed medications, topical treatments, standing wraps, and post-exercise therapies as directed; groom, bathe, clean hooves, and prepare horses for training, travel, and polo competition; exercise and condition horses by riding multiple sets daily, schooling young horses, and evaluating fitness, gait, and soundness; tack, untack, cool out, and maintain specialized polo tack and equipment; safely handle high-performance horses during turnout, transportation, and veterinary or farrier procedures; and maintain sanitary stable conditions by mucking stalls, replacing bedding, cleaning equipment, and organizing feed and supplies.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Housing provided by the employer includes free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities. Employer will provide, on a voluntary basis, transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: If not previously advanced or otherwise provided, the employer will reimburse workers for reasonable costs incurred for inbound transportation and daily subsistence once the worker completes 50% of the work contract period. Reimbursement will be included in the first paycheck following 50% completion (Continue in Addendum C).
Experience wanted: 12 months
On-the-job training provided. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Must be able to work at times in a standing, walking and stooping position. Employees must be able to frequently lift weights ranging from 20-50lbs. Requires 12 months of experience in the field of polo/polo ponies. KSR Polo conducts a pre-hire background check (Continue on Addendum C).
