The job
Workers will be responsible for cleaning, sorting, and processing harvested seed using hand methods and basic mechanical seed-cleaning equipment to remove debris, chaff, and non-viable material. Duties may include loading and unloading seed, operating and monitoring cleaning machines, weighing and packaging cleaned seed, labeling containers, and maintaining accurate records of processed quantities as directed by supervisors. Workers will also be expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, perform basic equipment sanitation and upkeep, and assist with general farm tasks as needed to support winter operations. The position requires the ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive hand movements, lift moderate loads, and work in indoor and occasionally cold or unheated agricultural facility conditions. Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services).
Transport: The employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and provide reimbursement upon arrival at the farm for all inbound and outbound transportation at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved. This may include plane, train, bus, or automobile.
Experience wanted: 3 months
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Extensive sitting is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion.
