The job
Prepare and maintain ornamental crops in greenhouses and/or nurseries by performing tasks such as seeding, transplanting, pruning, watering, irrigating, fertilizing, and other crop care activities.
Harvest, sort, label, package, and prepare ornamental plants for shipping and sale.
Crops include cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, chilis, 4-pack herbs (a combination of oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, mint, cilantro, chives, dill, parsley, sage), geraniums, eggplants, jalapeños, ferns,
Clean and maintain production areas, greenhouses, workstations, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Operate greenhouse machinery, tools, and equipment, as required, following established safety procedures.
Perform other general greenhouse production duties as assigned.
Housing: Rental or public accommodations
Meals: Employer will not provide meals. The rental or public accommodation housing includes free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, including cooking appliances, refrigeration, food-preparation space, cooking utensils, and dishwashing facilities with hot and cold running water. Workers will have access to transportation to the nearest grocery store once per week to purchase food and groceries for meal preparation.
Transport: Workers residing in the rental or public housing will be provided, at no cost to the workers, an employer-owned vehicle for daily transportation between the public or rental housing accommodation and the worksite. Workers who possess a valid driver's license and are authorized by the employer to drive the vehicle will drive themselves to and from the worksite each workday.
