The job
Winter pruning of peach trees, rake brush, plant trees, clean/maintain work area, cut weeds, thin blossoms/fruit from trees. Harvest cherries/peaches/pears at correct ripeness, pack into shipping boxes. Must be able to climb down ladder with 35 lbs pack. Must pick 10 bushel bags (50 lbs) per hour for job retention. Workers will be trained in food safety and must follow guidelines to retain employment.
Employer will abide by all of Colorado's agricultural laws to include Senate Bill 21-087 ("SB87") and the Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards Order (COMPS order) #38.
Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 “peak weeks” for highly seasonal employers.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances including refrigerator, cooking accessories, and sinks with hot and cold water for dishwashing, for workers to prepare their own meals. Employer will provide transportation, at no cost to the workers, to local grocery store on a weekly basis for workers to purchase groceries, supplies, and run other errands as needed.
Employer offers free transportation to town for personal services (i.e. banking, groceries) at least once per week for non range workers and at least once every three weeks for range workers.
Transport: The employer agrees to reimburse worker upon arrival for reasonable costs incurred for travelling by bus or van, and for daily subsistence (no less than $16.78/day, and no more than $68/day with receipts), from the place from which the worker came to the place of employment.
If the worker completes the work contract period, employer agrees to pay the bus or van fare and daily subsistence for the worker to return from the place of employment to the place from which the worker came to work.
