CRAWFISH LABORER

The job
Workers will be required to work crawfish ponds in preparation for harvest, repair and/or replace traps for distribution in ponds, distribute bait in traps, harvest crawfish from tramps into a trough to grade and sack, re-bait and reset traps, pick up traps after harvest and prepare traps fro storage and store traps. Workers will also be required to perform general farm labor including but not limited to: repairing levees with a shovel, cleaning and minor repair and maintenance to equipment, etc. Workers will be exposed to water dangers such as poisonous snakes, alligators, etc. Drug tests may be performed post-hire at no cost to the workers to ensure worker safety and to keep in compliance with workers compensation guidelines. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. Workers must follow all posted rules. Workers must be physically able to perform all duties described.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Housing has kitchen and cooking facilities and is furnished free of charge. Workers will be transported weekly to stores to purchase groceries.
Transport: Workers will choose their mode of transportation for in and outbound transportation. Workers will be reimbursed for inbound transportation of the most economical mode of transportation upon 50% completion of the contract from the place of origin to the place of employment and outbound transportation upon completion of contract, any extension or upon no cause extension to te place of origin or to subsequent H2A certified employer.
