The job
Vegetable work comprising of: harvesting vegetables, placing in buckets or boxes, carrying buckets or boxes to turn rows; washing and packing vegetables; cultivating using hoes and by hand; transplanting plants into rows; seeding flats in greenhouse; laying and moving irrigation pipe and drip tape, checking and repairing drip tape and sprinkler pipe; locating and trapping gophers. Must have basic knowledge of hand tools. Must be able to perform tasks efficiently, without close supervision. Must be able to work for long periods bending over, harvesting and transplanting.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: Workers have free use of kitchen facility. Ride provided to stores to purchase supplies.
Transport: Transportation and Subsistence (meals and lodging) are, paid for by the employer. Inbound transportation and subsistence are reimbursed on or before completion of½ of contract period. Actual expenses are reimbursed. Usually transportation is by bus and cab , but in years past air travel has been provided as well when that was more practical due to location of worker (with air travel the employer has purchased the ticket directly ).
