The job
Planting, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting operations for corn, soybeans, and a third rotational crop. Grain management including storing, hauling, and managing grain/beans in storage facilities. Calving season livestock management including assisting in monitoring, checking and caring for cattle, watering, feeding, calving out cows, calf rearing, and tagging. Loading, hauling, and transporting cattle for sales and distribution. Transporting farm-reared meat products to the employer's retail meat store. General farm labor tasks, including minor snow removal around farm buildings/equipment during winter months, farm labor meal preparation, farm building and equipment maintenance and clean-up. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs for 50yds and obtain a drivers license. Must be able to work in temperature extremes, around livestock and manure.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
Transport: The employer will provide advance transportation for a reasonable (most economical) common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) for inbound and outbound transportation (if it is the prevailing practice). If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for the transportation costs and subsistence to the employer’s worksite when the worker completes 50% of the work period.
