The job
The job specifications involve skilled farm labor for the purpose of performing seasonal duties associated with potato storage.
Preparation duties will include, washing equipment, moving equipment, sterilizing the warehouse, performing minor construction repairs.
Storage operations are not a year-round activity. Potatoes remain in their natural state while being stored and are not being processed during storage. Upon the completion of storage, equipment must be disassembled, repaired, or routine maintenance conducted.
Performs basic equipment service/maintenance tasks on farm equipment used in storage operations.
Operate potato storage equipment, including pilers, forklifts, bobcat, storage and washline equipment.
Use equipment to load and unload potatoes from storage bins.
Operate equipment to move potatoes from storage bins to load out location.
Use equipment to load potatoes on to trucks.
Handle potatoes in a manner to ensure they are not damaged.
Removal and clean up of spilled potatoes and other debris.
Operating a farm provided work pickup or service vehicle in order to drive to the field/farming location or to pickup/deliver parts to
the farming operation.
Perform basic maintenance or repairs on farm facilities.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
Perform farm site cleaning.
Report equipment repair needs to a supervisor.
Notify supervisor of potato quality concerns.
Perform general farm work as needed.
Participate in required health and safety training.
All tools will be provided at no cost.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities as a part of their housing unit so that workers may prepare their own meals. Cooking and eating utensils and food containers will be provided. The employer will also provide, on a weekly basis,
transportation to assure workers have access to stores to purchase groceries and personal necessities. Meal deductions may and will only be made if provided kitchen facilities become unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.

Experience wanted: 3 months
Job qualifications for the position include experience operating a bobcat, forklift, tractors, washline equipment, and other general
agriculture equipment. Experience required conducting basic maintenance on this equipment. 3 months experience performing these duties within the past 2 years. Employees must hold a drivers license (such as standard Class C) that allows them to operate a vehicle in the United States or be able to obtain one upon hire. Driving farm vehicles (pickups) may be required. A Motor Vehicle Report will be conducted on employees that will be driving. The employer will cover expenses related to the MVR.
