The job

The worker will perform seasonal agricultural duties associated with the care and feeding of beef cattle on a livestock operation during the winter and early spring livestock feeding season. The majority of the worker's time will be spent feeding livestock and performing farm maintenance. Primary duties include feeding cattle and checking cattle for their general condition and health. The worker will move and handle cattle on the operation and move and stack hay bales used for livestock feeding. The worker will fill feed bins, handle feed grain for livestock, and occasionally haul feed grain for the cattle operation. The worker will operate tractors and loaders used in the cattle operation. Duties include preparing feeding equipment at the start of the season and performing routine maintenance of farm equipment through the close of the feeding period. The worker will also perform fence and corral maintenance and general farm maintenance directly related to the cattle operation. Duties are seasonal in nature and directly support the employer's beef cattle production. Work requires attention to the condition of livestock and safe work practices. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dish-washing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services).

Transport: Employer will permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and

provide reimbursement upon arrival at the farm for all inbound and outbound transportation at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved. This may include plane, train, bus, or automobile.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Minimum of 3 months of related experience is required. Worker must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase based on verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed in the job order at the employer's sole discretion. Operator License Class D required. The selected candidate will have 60 days to obtain the required license.

Skill Level II, Experienced Level. The employer designates this position as Skill Level II based on the experience and qualifications required for the job opportunity.
