The job
We operate a custom harvesting and manure hauling business. We harvest/cut silage, corn, triticale, hay and spread manure. We need seasonal employees to diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and farm trucks; dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools; record details of repairs made and parts used; re-assemble machines and equipment following repair; test machinery/vehicle operation and make adjustments, as necessary; clean and lubricate parts; and perform other duties and tasks under SOC code 49-3041. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed in a mechanic shop setting and outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Being on one's feet for long periods of time is required. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds is required. Frequent turning, pushing, and pulling is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate tools and parts is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment appliances (including refrigeration), cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g., adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will make transportation available for access to grocery stores.
